Hi, I'm Julia. I'm a multidisciplinary designer and researcher based in Washington, DC.
I am passionate about design that combines user-centered research with a critical perspective. I believe that good design provides solutions, but the best design helps us to find the right questions.
I received a Master's of Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design and a BA in English Literature from Yale University.
Previously, I worked for Michael Bierut at Pentagram. While there, I acted as a strategist, project manager, and researcher for projects ranging from brand strategy and identity to environmental graphics and signage. I managed projects for clients in a variety of industries, including non-profit cultural institutions, educational organizations, media companies, architecture firms, residential real estate developers, law firms, a political campaign, and a Fortune 20 company.
Before that, I worked as a Communications Associate at Bridgewater, the world's largest hedge fund.
